Utah Jazz coach Jerry Sloan got an early start on his All-Star game weekend break.

So did Indiana coach Isiah Thomas and Pacers forward Ron Artest.

In the past 10 days, they've all been given multiple-game suspensions by the NBA as the league tries to reduce increased confrontations between officials and players, as well as players against players.

Sloan, hit with a seven-game suspension for pushing referee Courtney Kirkland in a Jan. 28 game against Sacramento, won't be on the sidelines tonight when the Jazz (28-20) play the sinking Grizzlies (13-34) in the last game before the All-Star break.
