There was almost a full quarter left to play in Wednesday's Grizzlies-Jazz game, and Grizzlies point guard Earl Watson's mind was having a conversation with the rest of his body.

"My mind was saying 'Do it,' and my body said 'I can't,' " said Watson, just one of eight Grizzlies dressed for what turned into a 105-84 Utah rout before a Delta Center crowd of 19,473.

The Grizzlies (13-35), missing two starters and two top reserves from their playing rotation because of injuries, went from virtually dead-even, trailing 71-69 at the end of the third quarter, to simply dead in the final period. Thus, they lost their seventh straight game and finished winless on a three-game road trip leading into this weekend's All-Star break.
