Lorenzen Wright is the emotional and spiritual leader of the Memphis Grizzlies, but he?ll be relying on his teammates and all the people close to him for support now.

Wright was in Dallas Saturday morning when he received the devastating news that his youngest child - an 11-month-old daughter, Sierra - died suddenly in his Memphis home. Wright's wife, Sherra, found the baby, who was not breathing.

There were no obvious signs of trauma. A pending autopsy will determine the cause of death. Ron Tillery of the Memphis Commercial Appeal suggested that perhaps sudden infant death syndrome is the issue.

Wright has four other children, and the unexpected void will not be easily filled for a guy who often talks of having seven, maybe, 10 kids.

Teammate Wesley Person, who has four children, said, "I've heard a lot of stories about when things like this happen. People go into depression. I know he's mentally tough enough to fight through it. But I know it's tough for him being the family man that he is, and knowing the way he cares about his kids."

Wright returned home after receiving the news, and will be out of action indefinitely.
