In one fell swoop Monday night, the Jazz learned the identity of their first-round playoff opponent, were reminded why they cannot beat the San Antonio Spurs and ridded themselves of a longtime thorn in their collective behind.

San Antonio beat Utah 91-83 in front of 19,821 at the Delta Center, extending the Spurs dominance over the Jazz to 13 victories in a row.

Simultaneously, the loss locked Utah into the No. 7 position in the NBA's Western Conference standings and guaranteed the Spurs they will finish first in the conference and the league, giving them homecourt advantage throughout the playoffs.
