Former Utah Jazz center Olden Polynice began a two-day jail term Tuesday for violating his probation in a three-year-old case in which he had pleaded guilty to impersonating a police officer.

The probation violation occurred when Polynice assaulted another golfer at the Old Mill Golf Course last year.

Defense attorney Greg Skordas said Polynice was unprepared for the jail sentence. "He was sad," Skordas told The Tribune. "He took it hard. He felt a sense of loss."
