Toronto Raptors general manager Glen Grunwald will arrive in his office this morning with some intriguing phone calls to return.

P.J. Carlesimo, the former Portland and Golden State head coach, and Brendan Malone, the first head coach in Raptors history, both tried to reach Grunwald yesterday to express their interest in the team's vacant coaching job.

"It's a very good situation, I'd love to be considered for it," said Carlesimo, a San Antonio Spurs assistant who made his first attempt to call Grunwald yesterday. "I intend to make contact with Glen as soon as I can and say that I'm very interested in the position."
