Former Hornets head coach Paul Silas is planning to meet with the Los Angeles Clippers next week to discuss the team's head coaching job.

Silas said he will meet with Elgin Baylor, the Clippers' vice president of basketball operations. But before he travels to Los Angeles, he plans to take in some of the Western Conference semifinals as a guest of Dallas Mavericks coach Don Nelson. Silas discussed his plans on Thursday's "Pardon the Interruption" show on ESPN.

"That's my old team (Clippers), the first team I started with, and I'm going to talk to Elgin and see where it goes," Silas said. "But there has been a lot of inquiries so far. I do want to coach next year. It's just in your blood, and you know you are good at it, and you want to do it. I couldn't think of doing anything else."
