Penn's Ugonna Onyekwe learned yesterday that he has earned a coveted spot in the NBA pre-draft camp in Chicago, the final time that professional scouts have the benefit of a showcase event as they prepare for the June 26 draft.

The pre-draft camp runs from June 3 to 10.

A 6-foot-8 forward whose athleticism earned him Ivy League player-of-the-year honors in his junior and senior seasons, Onyekwe is one of 66 potential picks in the two-round draft who will show their stuff before representatives from each NBA team.

When he received a phone call last night from one of his advisers informing him of his selection, Onyekwe was at Philadelphia International Airport awaiting a flight to Cleveland for a workout with the Cavaliers.
