Basketball is a business. Star players move around the league in search of better teams, better contracts and better paychecks. It can be cold and indifferent.

So if Game 5 of the NBA Finals tonight happens to be the last time free agents-to-be Jason Kidd, Lucious Harris, Brian Scalabrine and injured Donny Marshall put on a Nets home uniform, so be it, the players say.

"Whatever happens happens," Nets forward Rodney Rogers said. "You try not to get attached."

But for another group close to the team, the departure of Harris, Scalabrine, Marshall and especially Kidd would resonate deeper.
