Win or lose, the San Antonio Spurs are in for a heck of a party courtesy of Alamo City taxpayers, officials have confirmed.

As in 1999, when the Spurs beat the New York Knicks for the NBA title in a strike-shortened season, the team will be treated to a Fiesta-style river parade and public celebration in the Alamodome.

"If they win (tonight), then on Monday we'll let everybody know what is going on," Roland Lozano, special events coordinator for the city, said Friday .

In 1999, the festivities drew an estimated 300,000 fans to cheer the team members as they floated on 25 barges from the Navarro Street bridge to the Martin Street bridge and then boarded trolley buses for a free celebration at the Alamodome.
