The Knicks could wind up with a rugged Georgetown forward Thursday night after all, but it may not be Mike Sweetney.

The Knicks have revived those February trading-deadline talks with Toronto and the Raptors' 6-9 rugged rebounder Jerome "Junkyard Dog" Williams could be part of a blockbuster package that would give the Knicks the fourth pick overall and send Latrell Sprewell packing. The Raptors, who have been shopping their pick, would move down to No. 9.

Knicks GM Scott Layden has said his mission Thursday is to make the Knicks "longer", saying it referred to all three frontcourt positions, including small forward. Williams, who averaged 9.7 points and 9.2 rebounds in 33 minutes last season, can play both small and power forward. The Knicks believe the 6-5 Sprewell, 32 next season, is no longer as effective playing out of position at the "3".
