Considering the Nuggets dealt their franchise player in Antonio McDyess on draft night last year and the fact general manager Kiki Vandeweghe has shown he isn't scared to make trades, there is always a chance for a surprise, right?

Don't count on it during tonight's NBA draft.

Vandeweghe said the Nuggets are expected to keep the third pick, which likely will be used on Syracuse forward Carmelo Anthony, and there is a slim chance another first-round pick will be acquired.

"There is nothing yet, but I bet (today) there would probably be," Vandeweghe said about any hot trade proposals. "Things that make you stop and think about it. I'd be very, very surprised if it was about the third pick."

NBA sources confirmed there were trade talks of the Nuggets dealing forward-center Marcus Camby to the Portland Trail Blazers for center Arvydas Sabonis and the 23rd pick in the first round.
