McCarty's market has only started to take shape.

The free agent forward's agent, Michael Higgins, was in the process of talking to a broad range of teams yesterday, including Utah, Denver and San Antonio. McCarty had also reportedly met with Orlando officials, though that team's plans took a hit when the league denied them salary cap relief for Grant Hill's ankle rehabilitation.

Though he is still talking with Ainge, and hasn't ruled out McCarty returning to the Celtics, Higgins now predicts a long summer.

``I have a feeling that it's going to be nice and slow,'' said Higgins. ``Ask we speak I'm talking to people, now that we're getting an idea of where a few of the pieces are falling.

``There's interest, though there are obviously also priorities,'' he said. ``Brad Miller, and guys like that, are taking that priority. I certainly don't see it happening in the next 24 hours, though.''
