Sixers coach Randy Ayers has a bad feeling that guard Allen Iverson will not play on the team's upcoming west coast swing, which begins on Friday.

Iverson, who leads the NBA in scoring, steals, and minutes, has swelling in his bruised right knee and has missed five of the past six games.

Ayers, the Sixers' coach, said, "We'll have to evaluate him [today] and see how he feels." When asked whether he felt, as of the moment, that Iverson would travel Thursday, Ayers said, "No, not right now. It's just so up in the air."

"There's still some swelling [in the knee]," Ayers said. "One day it looks good, the next day it's a little puffy. Until we get it down on a consistent basis we're still going to always be concerned."
