Rasheed Wallace was mobbed by reporters who wanted to hear more from the star power forward.  Would he back away from his comments guaranteeing victory over the Pacers or be ready to back them up at game time?

After the Pistons dropped Game 1 78-74, Wallace told the media: "I'm guaranteeing Game 2. That's the bottom line. That's all I'm saying. They will not win Game 2. You heard that from me. Ya'll can print whatever you want. Put it on the front page, back page, middle of the page. They will not win Game 2."

Wallace did not back away from the assertion a day later.  "I said it last night and I'm saying it again: We will win Game 2," Wallace said. "I'm not trying to sound ignorant or anything, but we will win."

The rest of the Pistons seemed unaffected by the prediction, saying that it added no extra pressure to the game.

"That's just confidence, and also we feel like we lost the game,? Chauncey Billups said. "We beat ourselves and they didn't beat us."
