Ben Wallace was not wanted by the Boston Celtics and now they regret it.

Despite a sore need for defense and rebounding, the Celtics passed on numerous chances to pick the big man up.

``Man, the Celtics blew a lot of chances,'' said Wallace.

Oddly, M.L. Carr told Wallace that he could only make it as a wing player in the NBA.  Since then, Wallace has grown into a force in the paint.

Wallace wanted to be a Celtic.  ``I really wanted to play there,'' he said. ``I mean, they've got a rich tradition in this league, and when you've got a guy (Bill Russell) who's won more championships than he has fingers, that definitely attracts you. That was a place I really wanted to be.''
