Take a break, Detroit, and pack a lunch.

The Pistons are coming downtown for a parade.

In an upset for the ages, the Pistons won their third NBA title Tuesday night with a 100-87 victory over the Lakers, and this time they got to celebrate at home.

Led by a forward who went undrafted out of college and a point guard rejected by five previous teams, the Pistons turned in one of their best overall performances of the season. They beat the heavily favored Lakers to nearly every rebound and loose ball, shot well for most of the game and thoroughly entertained the Palace crowd in Game 5 of the NBA Finals.
