Rebounding from a crushing 94-90 defeat to Lithuania, the USA beat Angola 89-53 on Monday in their final game of the preliminary round.  Tim Duncan was the leading scorer with a modest 15 points.  Larry Brown's squad will play either Spain, Italy or Argentina in the quarterfinals.

Perhaps Lebron James put things in the best perspective when he said "The records are out the door and it's the best team that comes to play.  It's win three games and get the gold. If our best team shows up, we can win the gold"

In order to win that gold medal, Larry Brown will have to continue making slight adjustments against zone defenses and they will have to shoot well from the perimeter.  On Monday, the US made their first two shots from 3 point land, setting an early tone of dominance, which they maintained throughout the contest.
