Ray Allen who is in the middle of contract negotiations with the Seattle Supersonics has said that he has a problem with the trend of this NBA offseason, which saw players like Tracy McGrady, Baron Davis, Peja Stojakovic and Vince Carter all request trades.

"I myself, I don't respect it," he said. "You have to honor your contract. You sign a contract, regardless of what the rest of the league is making, you have to honor your contract.

"There are some unique situations where guys, you give the benefit of the doubt. But those guys are making a great deal of money, they owe it to their organization, they owe it to their teammates to stick it out. You can't just say, 'Trade me now because you guys didn't do anything over the summer.'"
