Despite his name being mentioned in almost every trade rumor heard these days the New York Knicks named Kurt Thomas as one of the team's captains this season, joining both Stephon Marbury and Allan Houston in the leadership role.

Asked if a captain can still be traded, the on-the-block Thomas quipped, "I have no idea, but Patrick Ewing was a captain and he was traded."
