Brian Cook, a reserve on last year's team, and saw very limited action, came off the bench to score a career-high 25 points, including five 3-pointers, in a 95-90 victory over Milwaukee on Tuesday night.

"That's a sign of a good team," Lakers coach Rudy Tomjanovich said. "It doesn't always have to be the same guy who is stepping up."

Cook was 10-for-14 from the floor and only missed one three-point attempt.

"He was amazing," Tomjanovich added. "I knew the guy was a good shooter, but I didn't know he was going to be a 3-shooter. He shoots it so easy. He's got one of the quickest releases in the league. It's just effortless."

Cook also grabbed seven of the team's 13 offensive rebounds. He finished with a career-high 11 boards.
