Toronto Raptors Jalen Rose and Donyell Marshall are sympathetic to the plight of their NHL counterparts, but feel the NHLPA went too far in trying to end the lockout, offering a 24 per cent pay cut in its latest proposal.

"I will say from the outside looking in, I know 25 per cent off a dollar leaves you with 75 cents, and if Uncle Sam is going to tax you on that dollar (another) 40 per cent, that's 65 cents off one dollar," Rose said Saturday. "That's a pretty good concession that I hear from the outside looking in, so we'll have to wait and see what happens."
