Washington Wizards President of Basketball Operations Ernie Grunfeld announced today that the team has activated guard Steve Blake and placed guard Laron Profit on the injured list with an arch strain in his left foot.

Blake has had two separate stints on the injured list this season. He missed the first eight games of the season after having surgery to remove a chipped bone from his right ankle on September 22, 2004. Blake was activated from the injured list on November 20 and played in two games, prior to being placed on the injured list with an arch strain in his left foot on December 28. In his rookie campaign with the Wizards last season, Blake played in 75 games with 14 starts. He averaged 5.9 points and 2.8 assists per game.

Profit returned to the Wizards on October 1, 2004 after signing with the team as a free agent. In nine appearances this season, he averaged 3.1 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game. Profit made his first start since April 18, 2001 in the Wizards season opener at Memphis (11/3), finishing with 11 points, seven rebounds and six assists in 33 minutes.
