Kevin Garnett was a record setter on Tuesday night. He bested his previous career high by 7 points, scoring 47. That just also happened to be a Minnesota franchise record. He set career highs in field goals attempted and made. He did it while shooting 68% for the game. He also tacked on 17 rebounds and 4 assists.

That still wasn't enough to overcome the Phoenix Suns, who boast the league's top record.

Amare Stoudamire followed up his 50 points performance with that of 34. Shawn Marion added 28 points and Steve Nash put up 20 points and 16 assists.

"It's important for us to beat some of the more experienced teams around the league," Nash said, "and learn some lessons and continue to grow."

"Everyone's energy was up, so I have to be more careful," said Stoudemire, who claimed Garnett was hooking his waist while playing defense in the post.

"We got fired up," Garnett said. "We sort of took the game by the horns. We've got to start the games like that. We've got to start with that fury and some of the fire."
