The Clippers have claimed point guard Kenny Anderson off waivers from the Atlanta Hawks, it was announced by Vice President of Basketball Operations Elgin Baylor.

To create a roster spot for Anderson, the Clippers released guard Maurice Baker from his 10-day contract.

Anderson, a 14-year NBA veteran has averaged 12.6 points, 6.1 assists, 3.1 rebounds and 1.5 steals over the course of his career. In 39 games (20 starts) played for the Hawks this season, Anderson had tallied 5.0 points, 2.5 assists, 2.1 rebounds and 18.4 minutes prior to being placed on waivers on February 24th.

During the 2003-04 campaign, Anderson recorded 6.0 points and 2.8 assists in 44 games played with the Indiana Pacers.

Anderson registered his most productive NBA season in 1993, when he tallied 18.8 points, 9.6 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 1.9 assists while playing in all 82 games for New Jersey.

The second overall selection in the 1991 NBA Draft by the New Jersey Nets, Anderson has helped five different NBA teams (New Jersey - twice, Portland, Boston, New Orleans and Indiana) reach the playoffs over his career, while carrying playoff averages of 9.6 points, 3.8 assists and 2.4 rebounds in 36 games. Anderson also has registered one All-Star appearance in his career, representing New Jersey in the 1994 NBA All-Star Game.

In two standout seasons at Georgia Tech, Anderson averaged 23.0 points, 7.0 assists and 5.6 rebounds per game, while leading the Yellow Jackets to the 1990 NCAA Final Four as a freshman.

Anderson will be in uniform and available to play for the Clippers tonight in Utah.
