Philadelphia 76ers President and General Manager Billy King announced today that the Sixers have placed forward Jamal Mashburn (patella femoral irritation, right knee) on the injured list and activated guard John Salmons.

Salmons spent the last five games on the injured list due to asthmatic bronchitis. This season, Salmons has played in 35 games (8 starts) and is averaging 5.1 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. In his third NBA season, Salmons has missed a total of  14 games due to injury and recorded seven DNP-Coach's Decisions.

Mashburn was acquired by the 76ers along with Rodney Rogers from the New Orleans Hornets on Feb. 24, 2005, in exchange for Glenn Robinson. Mashburn was placed on the injured list (patella femoral irritation, right knee) on Nov. 1 by the Hornets and has missed the entire season.
