Steve Nash?s return to the Suns? line-up could not have come at a better time.  The Suns were in a bit of a funk going just 2-4 minus their floor general and the hottest team in the NBA, the Detroit Pistons, was coming to America West Arena seeking their ninth win in a row.

Steve Nash showed no signs of injury, playing at his usual frantic pace and going 5-12 from the field including a crucial 3-pointer with just over a minute left that put the Suns on top for good.  More importantly Nash dished out 14 assists, many of his passes giving Amare Stoudemire license to dunk at will.

The highly anticipated match between the two second seeds in their respective conferences did not disappoint as the game came down to a final Billups 3-pointer that clanked off the the front of the rim sealing the Suns 100-97 win and their place within the NBA elite.

Rasheed Wallace was a force down low, scoring 22 points and hauling down 13 rebound in the loss.

With the win the Suns move to an unthinkable 44-14 while the defending NBA champs fell to 36-20 on the season.
