Allen Iverson remained hopeful Wednesday a chipped bone in his left thumb won't cost him any games.

``Nine times out of 10, I'm playing Friday,'' Iverson said after the 76ers practiced without him.

He was hurt in Philadelphia's win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night. Iverson said Wednesday he still wasn't sure when the injury happened, though he thought it might have been on a play where he was fouled by Kobe Bryant.

``To a certain extent, it is tolerance of pain, but it's also going to be how the X-ray looks and whether there would be a chance of further injury,'' Jim O'Brien said.

``We're trying to get all the wins that we can, and for something like this to happen makes it that much harder,'' Iverson said.

If Iverson can't play, Willie Green would start. Chris Webber, who has struggled in 10 games with Philadelphia, could also get the ball more.

Iverson is the league's leading scorer at over 30 points per game.
