Joe Johnson has been medically cleared to return to the floor, but will not play in Game 1 against the Spurs.

?While Joe has been cleared to resume normal basketball activities, we have not given him clearance to play in a NBA game,? said Suns President and General Manager Bryan Colangelo.  ?We will continue to monitor his progress on a daily basis. Accordingly, Joe will not play Sunday in Game 1 vs. San Antonio.?

"Knowing Joe, definitely I would expect him to be out there in some form," said Suns forward Quentin Richardson, who has been in close contact with Johnson. "Maybe it will be limited minutes because we?re just trying to work him back in, but I think he?ll be ready."

Johnson will be at practice today however the Suns are not sure if he will participate.

"It?s a matter of him feeling comfortable with the mask plus his conditioning and timing," said D?Antoni, noting that Johnson has not played since May 11.
