The Associated Press is reporting that Utah signed first round pick Deron Williams on Monday.

Williams, selected No. 3 after the Jazz traded three first-round draft picks to Portland, is expected to play a major rebuilding role after Utah's dismal 24-46 season.

The 6-foot-3 point guard led Illinois to the NCAA national championship game as a junior. He finished second all-time in the Illini record book with 594 assists.

The team also accounced the signing of second round pick C.J. Miles. Miles, only 18 years old, had signed a letter of intent to play at Texas before being selected 34th overall. The 6-6 shooting guard averaged 23.5 points, 10 rebounds and 4.8 assists at Skyline High School in Dallas.

Both players are expected to participate in the Jazz summer camp.
