The Seattle SuperSonics today signed director of basketball operations Dave Pendergraft to a multi-year contract extension, Sonics President and CEO Wally Walker announced.

?Dave is one of the best talent evaluators in the NBA,? said Walker. ?His ability to identify and assess basketball talent in the U.S. and overseas has been invaluable to our organization over the past six years.?

Pendergraft originally joined the Sonics as a scout in 1999. He was promoted to his current position in July of 2001. Prior to joining Seattle, he served three seasons as the director of player personnel for the New Jersey Nets and has more than 24 years of basketball experience at both the college and professional levels.

?Dave?s track record with the Sonics and his reputation around the NBA are stellar,? said Sonics General Manager Rick Sund. ?Our organization is fortunate to have one of the best player-personnel individuals in the league.?
