Percy Allen of the Seattle Times is reporting that general manager Rick Sund and CEO and president Wally Walker were expected to meet with Schultz on Wednesday, but the discussions were postponed. The trio might meet Thursday and discuss the coaching vacancy and assistant coach Bob Weiss, who has received endorsements from a majority of players, reportedly including co-captains Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis.

Luke Ridnour, Reggie Evans, Danny Fortson and Mateen Cleaves voiced their support of Weiss, who has been a Sonics assistant since 1994.

"We all know coach Weiss, so there's that comfort knowing what he's about and he knows us," said Ridnour, who watched parts of yesterday's summer-league morning practice sitting next to Weiss on the sideline. "From what I can gather, and I don't really want to speak for anybody else, but I'd guess most everybody feels that way."

Evans echoed the sentiments. "Coach Bob would be a real good choice," he said.
