The Nets took another step toward solidifying their frontcourt picture yesterday by reaching agreement on a one-year deal with 6-10 veteran forward Cliff Robinson, according to an agent claiming knowledge of the talks.

Robinson, 39, acquired from Golden State on Feb. 14 for a pair of second-round picks, averaged six points and 3.3 rebounds in 29 regular-season games for New Jersey. The Nets had declined the team option to pay him $5.87 million in the last year of his contract.
