It's been a week since Antonio Davis left the Knicks' huddle in Chicago to rush into the stands ? and left the Knicks in a lurch.

Davis hasn't been back since. The suspended Davis, still in Chicago, missed another practice yesterday and won't return until at least tomorrow.

Though Davis is suspended five games, he is allowed to practice and attend shoot-arounds. By staying away from the team during this crisis, Davis doesn't appear to be showing the kind of veteran leadership for which he was acquired.

Larry Brown won't say he's upset, but knowing how important practice means to him, the coach has got to be bothered.

Davis will miss his third game tonight, vs. Sacramento.
