Guard Mateen Cleaves has returned to the Fayetteville Patriots roster after completing a pair of 10-day contracts with the Seattle SuperSonics. The Patriots waived guard Cliff Hawkins to make room for Cleaves.

Cleaves, 6-2, 210, will join the Patriots (6-22) in Austin for Thursday?s game against the Toros (18-12) at the Austin Convention Center. The former Michigan State All-American has played in 167 career NBA games and has averaged 11.2 minutes, 3.6 points, 1.9 assists and 1.0 rebounds since being the 14th overall selection in the 2000 NBA Draft by the Detroit Pistons.
