Orlando Magic point guard Jameer Nelson said Tuesday he officially has been diagnosed with "cartilage damage'' in his right foot and will be out three weeks, placing his return in early- to mid-March.

Nelson said he saw two specialists over the all-star break, one in Houston and the other in Charlotte, N.C. "Both of them said the same thing . . . damaged cartilage,'' Nelson said. "I'm doing everything I'm supposed to as far as treatment. I definitely want to play, but I'm not going to do anything stupid.''
