Chicago Bulls forward Malik Allen was carted off the court on a stretcher and taken to a hospital for precautionary measures after suffering an apparent head injury early in the second quarter of Tuesday night's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Allen rotated to guard a driving Rashad McCants 20 seconds into the quarter. As he fell backward, Allen's head banged into teammate Darius Songaila's knee.

Allen remained on the floor for several minutes, and his neck was immobilized before he was carted away. As he left the court, Allen moved his arms and raised a fist. He was taken to Rush University Medical Center.

Minutes later, Bulls guard Chris Duhon headed to the locker room after taking a shot to the face. He was back on the sideline when the second half started.
