Josh Childress of the Atlanta Hawks has been suspended two games without pay for throwing a forearm to the head of Andres Nocioni of the Chicago Bulls, and Nocioni will be fined $5,000 and has been assessed a Flagrant Foul Penalty Two for making unnecessary and excessive contact with Childress, it was announced today by Stu Jackson, NBA Senior Vice President Basketball Operations.

The incident occurred with 2:33 remaining in the fourth period of the Hawks' 96-90 loss on Wednesday to Chicago at Philips Arena.

Childress will serve his suspension tonight when the Hawks host the Charlotte Bobcats and tomorrow when the team travels to Milwaukee to play the Bucks at Bradley Center.
