Knicks ownership, according to Howard Beck of the New York Times, has resolved to oust Larry Brown one year into his five-year contract.

The hold up, however, is the timing and method to decide, and so Brown ? who has yet to be told of his fate by the team ? will be carrying out his duties.

Brown has made requests for a meeting, but neither Isiah Thomas, nor the Cablevision chairman, James L. Dolan have responded.

It is the thinking of Knicks management that since Brown alienated most of his players and also wants a major overhaul of the roster. It will instead be simpler, and possibly cheaper, to replace Brown instead.
