Marquis Daniels felt his time with the Mavericks was coming to an end after his opportunities diminished when Avery Johnson became head coach, the Dallas Morning News is reporting.

Dallas agreed to a deal with the Indiana Pacers which will see Austin Croshere replace Daniels on the roster.

"I got to do a lot of different things on the floor under Nellie," Daniels said. "When Avery came in, things changed. I didn't get a chance to do as much out on the floor.

"Obviously, Nellie helped me get to the situation I'm at now. There's no hard feelings on my part. I'm just looking forward to moving on."

"I'm very excited about going up to Indiana," Daniels said. "Everything works out for the best. I wouldn't change anything. I had a great time in Dallas."
