With the Nets already having one of the highest payrolls in the NBA, it is appearing unlikely that they will be major players in what remains in free agency. Lorenzen Wright, Reggie Evans, Melvin Ely and Eddie House are all on New Jersey's radar, but the price each player is putting on himself is a bit high for the club's blood.

"We knew we weren't going to be big free-agent players. ... It's survival of the fittest, and our improvement is going to have to be from within," said Lawrence Frank.
