Team sources informed ESPN that Josh Howard and the Mavericks have come to an agreement on a four-year, $40 million contract extension.
The two sides were facing an October 31st deadline, which would have allowed him to become a restricted free agent next summer.
Howard has been disappointed with the Mavericks' reluctance to complete a deal, but he hasn't allowed the contract status to become a distraction. He has been the team's best player during training camp.
