The future of either Matt Walsh and Awvee Storey in New Jersey depends on what the team does with guard Jeff McInnis, Dave D'Alessandro of the Newark Star-Ledger writes.

With 15 guaranteed contracts already, both players face being cut despite strong training camps.

"You never know in this world what can happen," Lawrence Frank said before last night's 102-92 triumph over the Sixers at Continental Airlines Arena. "Awvee's been told three years in a row he has no shot to make a team, and two years in a row he made it. Same thing with Matt -- Matt's an NBA player. You never know what can happen, whether it's here or someone else. If it doesn't work out here because of our guaranteed contract situation, you do everything in your power, and talk to everyone you know who might have an opening. But both those guys are NBA players."

A buyout agreement with McInnis would see the team gain one roster spot.

"I was hoping the McInnis situation got worked out by now and there would be a spot," Walsh said before last night's preseason game against Philadelphia. "But any time you have a chance to come to an NBA camp, you do it. I was going overseas -- I wasn't coming to a camp -- but this was a chance to make an impression, and you don't know how many other chances you'll get to do that. So I figured I'd come here, leave it all on the court. I don't regret my decision at all."
