The Boston Celtics announced today that they have requested waivers on forwards Brian Grant and Luke Jackson.

Jackson was acquired on October 13, 2006 in a trade with the Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for center Dwayne Jones. The Celtics also received cash considerations in the deal. In the four preseason games that Jackson played with the Celtics, he averaged 2.8 points in 5.3 minutes per contest. Jackson also dressed for two additional preseason games with Boston but did not play (10/13 vs. Cleveland, 10/25 vs. Toronto).

Grant was acquired in the draft night trade that saw the Celtics also acquire the draft rights to Rajon Rondo and cash considerations from Phoenix. The Celtics in return gave up a future first round draft choice. Grant did not appear in a game for the Celtics.
