The New Jersey Nets have exercised the third-year option on the contract of guard/forward Antoine Wright, Nets President Rod Thorn announced today.  He will remain under contract with the Nets through the 2007-08 season.

?Antoine worked extremely hard on his game during the off-season,? said Thorn. ?His improved performance during the preseason warrants this extension.?

Wright, a 6-7 guard/forward out of Texas A&M, was the First Round selection (15th overall) of the Nets in the 2005 NBA Draft.  In his rookie season in 2005-06, Wright played in 39 games, averaging 1.8 ppg in 9.5 minutes per contest.  In the 2006 preseason, Wright is averaging 13.7 ppg and 3.1 rebounds through seven games.
