Jermaine O'Neal missed the Indiana Pacers' 117-91 loss to the Washington Wizards on Wednesday night because of a left ankle injury.

After the game, the star forward said he expects to return to action Friday night at home against Orlando.

"The medical staff just didn't think if I played today that I would be able to play on Friday. I had surgery seven years ago, and I had a bone spur taken out, so any time I tweak my ankle, it's bone-on-bone," O'Neal said. "So I get bone bruises a little bit, but I'll be ready to play on Friday."
