Ray Allen will undergo an MRI exam on Wednesday morning to learn more about the extent of a strained tendon in his right ankle that kept him out of Tuesday's game versus Atlanta.

"It's been something that I've been dealing with," Allen said. "There's a ligament that's strained on the right side below my ankle joint and it's been giving me uncomfortableness when I am moving to my right side. With treatment, it really hasn't gotten better."

Damien Wilkens started in Allen's place, which could be of some benefit to the Sonics.  Wilkens has struggled during his limited minutes this season.

"I am hoping this jump-starts Damien," said Bob Hill.

Allen had surgery on the same ankle in 2003 and was forced to miss 25 games.
