The Miami Heat announced today that they have signed free agent guard Eddie Jones and requested waivers on guard Robert Hite. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Jones, a 6?6?, 200-pound guard, returns to Miami after playing one and a half seasons for the Memphis Grizzlies. Prior to that, he spent five seasons with the Heat, leading the club in scoring average a franchise-best four consecutive seasons.

?Today I?m personally happy to announce we?ve brought a member of the Heat?s family back into the fold with the free agent signing of Eddie Jones.  We are very fortunate to be able to add such a quality person to our roster.  Eddie is the consummate professional whose leadership skills and work ethic will only enhance our squad.  His three-point shooting will help stretch the defense and his perimeter defense is second to none.  It?s good to have Eddie back.?
