The Indiana Pacers interviewed assistant coach Johnny Davis and Los Angeles Lakers assistant coach Brian Shaw for their vacant head coaching position Tuesday.

In another development, the Pacers gave Sacramento permission to talk to assistant coach Chuck Person about the Kings' head coaching vacancy. Person also met with Pacers officials Friday about the Indiana job.

"I thought it was a productive meeting," Davis said of his talk with team president Larry Bird. "It's a first-class organization; I'd be proud and honored to be their head coach."

Shaw, a former teammate of Bird in Boston, has been an assistant with the Lakers since the middle of the 2004-05 season.
