Don't be surprised if the Knicks trade their draft pick.

Isiah Thomas, whose Knicks own the 23rd pick in this summer's draft - thanks to the Eddy Curry trade - said the team is leaning toward keeping its selection on June 28, but is not opposed to trading it.

"My intention is to keep it," Thomas said. "We're hoping to find a player or two that can help us. But I'm open. We can possibly pass on the best player to get what we need." When asked what the Knicks need, Thomas said, "everything."

Thomas ruled out the idea of hiring Patrick Ewing as an assistant coach. "The staff is pretty full right now," Thomas said. "We probably have one more assistant than we really need. So, I don't think I would bring anyone in at this time."

In other Knicks' news, the Star-Ledger is reporting that Patrick Ewing will not join their bench as an assistant coach.

"The staff is pretty full right now," Thomas said. "We probably have one more assistant than we really need. So, I don't think I would bring anyone in at this time."
